Q: What does the $1,395 ticket price include?
A: A two-day, custom-tailored agenda consisting of: eight cooking demonstrations/seminars of your choice—four on Saturday and four more on Sunday; Friday evening welcome gala at one of New York City's premier cultural institutions featuring the cuisine of Danny Meyer's Hudson Yards Catering including food from Blue Smoke, Eleven Madison Park, Gramercy Tavern, The Modern and Tabla; Saturday evening dinner at one of three highly acclaimed New York restaurants—Fiamma, Picholine, or Union Square Café; breakfast and lunch on both Saturday and Sunday; access to the Good Living Travel Pavilion and the Gourmet Hospitality Lounge where you can enjoy wine and food tastings, samplings, and cooking and product demonstrations all weekend, plus a gift bag valued at nearly $300.
Q: Can I register another person for the same itinerary as myself at the same time?
A: Yes. There is an option on the registration page that allows for this.
Q: Will I receive a confirmation or ticket in the mail?
A: No. You will receive an email after registering as your confirmation for the weekend. Please keep this email for your records.
Q: Where can I stay?
A: Gourmet has secured discounted nightly rates at the Millennium Broadway Hotel, located at 145 West 44th Street. Please call the hotel directly at 212-768-4400 or 800-622-5569 and mention The Gourmet Institute. Refer to the Hotel Accommodations page for more information.
Q: Where can I park?
A: The Millennium Broadway Hotel offers overnight valet parking at a rate of $45 for 24 hours. Additionally, the Meyers Times Square Garage on West 44th Street (directly across from the Millennium Broadway Hotel) offers parking at a rate of $35 for 24 hours for Gourmet Institute attendees.
Q: Where does the weekend take place?
A: The Gourmet Institute will take place at the Condé Nast Building at 4 Times Square (43rd Street between Sixth Avenue and Broadway) and the Millennium Broadway Hotel, which is one block away, at 145 West 44th Street. Both venues are easily accessible by bus, subway, and taxi.
Q: Will there be transportation provided throughout the weekend?
A: Friday night: Roundtrip transportation will be provided between the Millennium Broadway Hotel (44th Street entrance) and the gala venue.
Saturday night: Roundtrip transportation will be provided between the Millennium Broadway Hotel (44th Street entrance) and each restaurant.
Q: What is the format for the Friday welcome gala?
A: The evening begins at 7:00 p.m. and will include cocktails, heavy passed hors d'oeuvres and food stations. The event ends at 10:00 p.m., with transportation provided back to the Millennium Broadway Hotel. Cocktail attire is requested. (There is no assigned seating.)
Q: What is the format for the Saturday evening dining experience?
A: Each restaurant provides a unique and unforgettable dining experience for Gourmet Institute guests. Dinner will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will include a four-course set menu paired with fabulous wines. The evening concludes between 10:30 and 11:00 p.m., with transportation provided back to the Millennium Broadway Hotel. (Seating at each restaurant is on a first-come, first-served basis.)
Q: What is the dress code for the weekend?
A: Casual attire is suggested for demonstrations/seminars. We suggest you bring a sweater as the rooms can be cool. Cocktail attire is requested at Friday's welcome gala and dressy casual is recommended for Saturday evening dinner.
Q: Is there a minimum age for attendees?
A: Yes. By law you must be 21 to attend this event. No exceptions will be made.
Q: Can I participate in fewer demonstrations/seminars for a lower ticket price?
A: No. There is ONE all-inclusive weekend ticket price of $1,395. However, it is not a problem if you are unable to attend every part of the weekend.
Q: If I need to cancel, can I get my money back?
A: No, tickets are nonrefundable.
Q: Who will be participating in the book signings?
A: A variety of chefs participate every year. We will post a list of participating chefs on this website once they have been confirmed.
Q: What meals are included in the weekend?
A: Registration begins on Friday at 2 p.m., and The Good Living Travel Pavilion opens at that time. Food and beverages will be served there until 5:00 p.m. The welcome gala is a three-hour cocktail party with hors d'oeuvres, stations and an open bar. Breakfast and lunch is served on Saturday and Sunday, and Saturday night includes the Saturday night dining experience.
